The tradition
Celtic Art
The Celtic period in Ireland began around 1,500 BC when designs were to be seen as flowing naturalistic patterns then slowly transformed into the classic intertwined artwork of the later, early medieval period. The spiritual aspect of Celtic Art is most clearly evident in the religious artwork of the Christian Era but had a sacred and mysterious significance from the earliest times.
