Privacy Policy

How BANDIA collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Who we are

BANDIA (“we”, “us”) is an Irish maker of handcrafted jewellery, books and maps, based at Glenlough, Kilcrohane, Co. Cork, Ireland. Our website is www.bandia.ie. You can contact us about anything in this policy at bandia@fastmail.net.

What we collect and why

We collect the personal data you give us when you place an order, create an account, or contact us: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, and order details. We use this information to fulfil your orders, respond to your enquiries, and meet our legal obligations (such as tax and accounting rules).

Payments are processed securely by our e-commerce provider, SureCart, and its payment processors. We never see or store your full card details.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep the shop working (for example, your basket) and — only with your consent — for analytics that help us understand how the site is used. You can accept, decline, or fine-tune cookies at any time from the cookie banner or its settings link.

Legal bases

We process your data under contract (to fulfil orders you place), legal obligation (tax and consumer law), consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and legitimate interest (site security and fraud prevention).

Sharing

Your data is shared only with the services needed to run the shop: our e-commerce and payment providers, delivery carriers (to ship your order), and our email provider (to reply to you). We do not sell your data.

Retention

Order records are kept for as long as Irish tax law requires. Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. Email bandia@fastmail.net and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
